One of them uses patterns of dots for the person and the background, and combines and unifies the image.
Patterns of dots
The second one uses different geometric shapes to create the person’s face and it looks like cubism.
The third one shows repetitions of people in the image, and also uses different colors and shapes in the canvas.

I have done research about jazz magazines for my page spread assignment. These included an inspirational page layout which has a modern look and displays some images of musicians using black, white, yellow and brown colors, an old classic style page layout and uses red, yellow, gray, and black colors.

I selected three jazz magazines which might publish my story, and one of them is JazzTimes, which is devoted to jazz and it publishes 10 times a year. The second one is The Mississippi Rag, which focuses on stories about contemporary and legendary giants of traditional jazz and ragtime. Third, is JazzWeek, which is located in Rochester, NY and it publishes industry news and weekly top 100 rankings of the jazz and smooth jazz radio station’s airplay chart.

In 1974, Shunzo Ohno, a Japanese trumpeter, met Art Blakey, who was one of the most famous bandleaders at the time, and Blakey offered Ohno the job to practice jazz in the United States, so he decided to move to New York. Ohno had some hardships in his lifetime: he wasted almost all of his pay on drugs, and he also got seriously injured in an accident and got cancer of his tonsils; however, he did not give up playing his music again and worked harder at his rehabilitation. In 1984, he got a Grammy Award for the album Machito and in 1988, he got the Grammy Award again for the album Live at Sweet Basil.
I love his music.
The theme I chose for the page spread assignment is the Entertainment magazine and I will focus on the one of most significant trumpeters in Jazz history, Shunzo Ohno.
He is a Japanese trumpeter and lives in New York. When he was younger, he came to the United States and his career was very successful and he went to stardom immediately, however; he became addicted to drugs, and had a car accident and damaged his lips. After he made a comeback from these hardships, he won the Grammy awards twice.
I love his CDs!!
The class of Adobe Jenson Pro is an Old Style serif typeface and I can make some comparisons to two other typefaces from the same class, Belwe Roman and Palatino.
Belwe Roman was designed by Georg Belwe, and has shorter ascenders and descenders than the Adobe Jenson Pro typeface. The Palatino typeface also has the graceful look of calligraphy from the humanist fonts of the Italian Renaissance and is similar to Adobe Jenson Pro which has a Venetian Old Style text.

Adobe Jenson pro and Palatino
Based on what I learned from the Graphic Design 1 course, I can identify the class of Adobe Jenson Pro typeface. The classification of the Adobe Jenson Pro is an Old Style serif, and I can see rounded serif and moderate variation in stroke width from its typeface. Therefore, it was combined by two icons, Nicolas Jenson’s roman, and Ludovico degli Arrighi’s italic typeface, which results in graceful typeface.
Adobe Jenson Pro is an OpenType update of the original Adobe family.
